Health & Safety

Updated: September 10, 2021

To ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff, we have implemented the following policies at all of our Berkeley Venues.

Vaccination Policy

To All Clients, Vendors, and Guests of Berkeley Events:

As per the new Ontario Government regulations, as of September 22, 2021, all persons who attend any Berkeley Events venues will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access our venues.

For the period between September 22 and October 12, 2021, people attending our venues will be able to provide a negative rapid antigen COVID-19 test from no more than 48 hours before the event start time as an alternative to proof of vaccination. These rapid antigen tests would have to be privately purchased, i.e., through Shoppers Drug Mart for $40.00.

Ontarians currently have access to a paper or PDF vaccine receipt that includes all relevant information to prove that they are fully vaccinated. This can be downloaded from covid19.ontariohealth.ca. Until the Ontario Government introduces the digital vaccine passport, we will accept paper copies of your second shot vaccine record.

The receipt looks like this: **personal info has been deleted**

Ontario Vaccine Receipt Example

Please make note that all events will have security located at the front door to check receipts against ID’s. We will still be requiring all visitors to comply with contact tracing for each event as per Government regulations.

Ontario will also introduce an enhanced digital vaccine receipt that features a QR code, which is safe, more secure and with you wherever you go. This digital vaccine receipt can be kept on a phone and easily used to show that you’ve been vaccinated if you need to. In addition, the province will launch a new app to make it easier and more convenient for businesses and organizations to read and verify that a digital vaccine receipt is valid, while protecting your privacy.

After October 12, only visitors with digital QR proof of double vaccine doses will be permitted entry.

Please note: Individuals who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical exemptions will be permitted entry with a doctor’s note until recognized medical exemptions can be integrated as part of a digital vaccine certificate. Children who are 11 years of age and younger and unable to be vaccinated will also be exempted from these requirements.

We are also happy to announce that as of September 22, all Berkeley Event’s staff will also have provided HR with receipts of double vaccinations, or provided medical exemption, as we are committed to providing a healthy and safe working environment.

Please also note at this time, mandatory masks for inside events are still mandated by the Ontario Government.

If anyone has questions or concerns, please contact Vice President Michael Sherman, michael@berkeleyevents.com.

Masks

All guests and staff are required to wear face masks inside all venues as per Ontario Government regulations. No masks are required when eating and/or drinking while seated at a table inside.

Staff Health & Safety

All Berkeley staff complete COVID-19 pre-shift screening checklists before entering the venue. Any employee deemed unfit to work in relation to COVID-19 is required to stay home from work for a minimum of 14 days.

Physical Distancing

We have placed signage throughout the venue, including floor decals to ensure proper physical distancing between guests from different households. At sit down events, all tables will be spaced according to current government regulations.

Group Sizes

We will continue to limit our venue capacities in accordance with Toronto Public Health’s most recent protocols, which we monitor regularly.

Enhanced Sanitation Measures

We’ve placed hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue and frequent touch points will be sanitized at regular intervals. Every employee is required to wash their hands for 20 seconds upon entering the venue, as well as throughout their shift. Following each event, the venue will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, including wiping down all touch points, tables and chairs.

Washroom Access

We will continue to limit the number of guests in the washroom at a time. An assigned staff member will also sanitize all high touchpoint surfaces throughout each event.

Vendors & Delivery Drivers

Signage is posted around the venue, including floor decals to remind vendors and delivery drivers of our health and safety policies, including wearing a mask indoors, using hand sanitizer and physical distancing from staff and guests. We also work closely with vendors to contact trace.
