We had our wedding here in July 2019. Rachel was totally incredible to work with. She was organized, efficient, quick to respond and super lovely overall. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, and didn't require much decor, but we went all out and it looked stunning. The food was amazing, everyone raved about it. They also let you bring in your own alcohol, which is a huge money saver. They are so flexible, and allowed us to bring in our own late night food items, decor items, dessert bar, and really anything else we wanted to personalize the event. Only downside was that we got a very hot, hot, hot day (45 degrees), and the venue's AC didn't cut it. We spent over $1000 on AC unit rentals as per the venue's (very good) advice, and still, it was HOT. But that's not their fault, it's an older venue, and they did everything they could by moving around fans, AC units, and serving ice-cold drinks. Overall a fabulous experience and I highly recommend.
Attractive, comfortable, multi-purpose venue. Church appearance coupled with multiple levels for entertainment, and outdoor patio makes it perfect for weddings.
The only downside, patio and basement can get packed very quickly so properly utilizing all rooms during your event planning is crucial.
All said, I would highly recommend considering the Berkeley Church for your next event.
As photographers and cinematographers, we really enjoy how much variety you can shoot within a short distance in this wonderfully eclectic venue with great food!
We were considering Berkeley Church for our wedding and we were put in touch with Liz. Liz was fantastic! She provided us a tour of the church and also the other locations (ex. Airship). We expressed how much we loved the space and we reached out for a quote and Liz promptly sent us one. We went back for an additional tour as well and Liz was very responsive to all our questions. She would've been a dream to work with! We ultimately decided not to have our wedding at the Berkeley Church as the floors seemed a bit dated and there were a lot of stairs, and we have a lot of older guests. But the space is absolutely lovely and we highly recommend it!
Nice location, a bit off the path in the east end. Accessible by street car. Small but well appointed interior, lots of older staircases & bathrooms in the basement. Outdoor patio is great for smokers & a bit of air as it is gated. Beautiful old church with kitchen/bar facilities & a upper balcony area, which can get hot when there is a crowd, no proper air circulation. Parking is difficult, some lots in the area, prices not to bad.
